Helambu Valley, located north of Kathmandu, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The Helambu close to the border with Tibet is inhabited by the different culture, style of the Tamang communities, and Sherpa’s in its uppermost areas. Five to six Hundred years ago the communities emigrated from Tibet to this region – and you can still see the Tibetan culture today. The inhabitants here are recognized for interior kitchen design. They are hard working, friendly and are well known for their warm hospitality.
From Sundarijal to Shivapuri National Park, Continuing along the Chisopani, Kutumsang, Thadepati and Sermathang, respectively at the Melamchi Pul Bazar gives many shots of admired scenario of nature.
The April 25 and 12 May 2015 Nepal earthquake have caused major casualty in the daily lifestyle of an inhabitant, monasteries, Gumbas other various sectors of the region. Your trip contributions will be implicated to enhance the re-constructional activities.
Our journey is maintained focusing Total Days of trip, distance, geography, and individual capable efforts. We will hike 4-8 hours per day. Each day hike is balanced with scheduled breakfast, launch, and dinner in pre destined hotel, Guest House, camp and locality.

After breakfast we will collect you from your hotel, and drive to Sundarijal. Your walk begins here. The first part of the trek is where we will ascend all the way up to Shivapuri national park. This takes around 2 hours as we pass through Mulkharkha village. A further 2-3 hours trekking into the park, we will begin to descend to Chisapani. The national park is full of color, local animals, birds, flora and forna. | |||||||||||

We start the day with a descent for approximately 1 hour. Followed by a gentle and gradual 2 hour trek until we reach Gol Banjyang village. From here we gradually ascend for 2 hours before we reach Kutumsang | |||||||||||

Today is short day which enables you to take on board the natural surroundings and culture of the villages we pass through! The trail ascends for around 2 hours until we get to Mangin Goth. We will trek for a further 2 hours till we reach Thadepati. This is the highest point of this trek. Here you will be able to have fantastic views of Jugal Himal & Dorje lakpa. The first part of this morning’s trek descends steeply through the pine and rhododendron forest two hours . Here we have beautiful views of the Helambu Valley, including the two major villages of Melamchi Gaon and Tarkeghyan Gaun. Day 6 | Trek back to Thimbu and drive to Kathmandu | 6-7 hours | At hotel | + | |||||||
Today is the final day of this fantastic short trek. A brief three hours descent to reach the village of Thimbu. From here we can take the local bus or jeep to back to Kathmandu. You should allow 4 hours for the transfer back to Kathhmandu. Your trip doesn’t end here though. Upon our return to Kathmandu, we will take you to for dinner at the Nepali chulo, where you ill be able to see wide and varied Nepali traditions. The following day, we say our farewells’ as we transfer you back to the airport if required. |
