Climate :

The climate in September, October, and November are best, it’s autumn during this month in Nepal and Annapurna region, we have hundreds of years of experience about good weather in October and November every year. Still, the cold wind will be stay above 5500m above, not properly descending to the hillside from High Mountain, most of the day it will be sunshine days, and almost no rain in any region of Nepal, very few chances to have clouds in mountains, bright, blue and clear crispy mountains view in this fall

, in the beautiful days of this season fascinating Nepali people celebrate major Nepali festival like Dhasaen, Tihar, and Chhat many more, you would have a great chance to involve in Nepali festival, here people are very charming and happy to welcome you as their special guest with warm hospitality. So in this season definitely you will have a great memory of trekking an Annapurna region or any trekking route of Nepal.

Temperature:

September: Trekking an Annapurna circuit in September is a good choice, and about the temperature it depends where you are,  if you are in mountain area then it will be bit chill in morning and evening but if you are in the lower part of Nepal then September is in  Nepal just cross the monsoon and starting autumn and we can fell still a bit of monsoon temperature

so in September, an Annapurna circuit trek will be 23 to 25 degree during the day and at night 17 to 20 in the begging of the trek and when you reach near Annapurna Mountains then it will be 15 to 17 during the day and at night 12 to 13 Celsius in September.

October:  Trekking an Annapurna circuit in October the temperature is always as good. So in October, the temperature will be bit decries then in September, because the winter is coming after autumn here, begging of the trek during the day it will be 18 to 20 degrees and at night 13 to 15. But when you go higher near the mountain then it will be fell in 12 to 13 during the day and at night 8 to 10 degrees.

November: Trekking to Annapurna circuit in November is the best time of the year, the temperature will colder then October in Nov during the day it will be  12 to 13 in begging of the trek and when you go mountainside it will be 8 to 10 and at night 5 -7 Celsius till the mid-Nov, but if you are still going in let Nov then temperature could be fell more like 3 to 4 during the day and – 2 to 5 during the night above 3500m an Annapurna Circuit trek.

Annapurna circuit trek food and Accommodations in September/October/ November:

Thangshep -Manag
In thangshep villages Manag (alt 2500m)

Food:

An Annapurna circuit trek you can get verities of food and drinks, in every tea house and homestay you can choose food from the menu card, they gave fixed food and drinks menu, with fix price,  they can cook all types of food like Nepali, chemises, Indian, American continental, but we suggest you please ask them to cook organic Nepali food, like bread items, vegetable, rice, Champa porridge, fruits which they grew up in their won investments in the garden and your money will go directly to them and it will be a big support to them.

we shall also say, in the beginning, part of the trek you can get a fresh vegetable and more fresh food, and when you go in mountain then you can’t get as much like before, because of they can’t grow the fresh vegetable every time in mountain due to the climate and temperature change, and they have to store then food and vegetable for pick season.

Accommodation: an Annapurna circuit trek you can stay at the local tea house in twine sharing beds in the room most of the nights, someplace you can also get an attached room with toilet and hot shower in the begging of the trek, but less chance in the mountain area, if you book your trip an advance then we can book you good rooms an advance. Generally, you have to book an advance most of the places, especially in high pick season.

Otherwise in high big season sometime you can’t get a room in a nice place. Basically you have to eat in the same tea house restaurant in the mountain, there is no choice to go out for special dinner or drinks accept very few places during the Annapurna circuit trek.

Annapurna circuit trek with a guide or without a guide in September, October, and November:

one the way to Thorong la pass
In between Yak Kharka and Thorong Phedi, in showing time.

With Guide: Annapurna circuit trek with a guide is much better and comfortable for you, and if you are looking for your safety and security into the mountains anytime guide will help you anytime. The guide can explain culture, nature, and religions of the region, he can also book your food and accommodation an advance every places before you reach in tea house or lodges. Take a professional guide who can explain all about the region and if encase avalanches or landslides happen they can rescue you anytime, especially when snowing and cover the trail, then the guide can find the trail where to go and how to get another place,

No buddy knows about mountain weather and conditions, it can be a change anytime. Also, hire a guide means you are giving a job for Nepali and make him busy that is your great support for the nation. So we strongly suggest you take a guide and make your trip lifetime memorable without any problems in the mountains.

Without guide:  yes we have seen many individual trekkers go an Annapurna circuit trek without a guide, and during the trek, they have a big problem for arranging accommodation, food, and difficulty in finding the trail where and how to get the next destination, and other big problem for individual trekkers when heavy snowing, landslides, the rock fell from mountains makes them difficult, not safety and security well, and we

have many examples many people lost the trail and got an injury and, missing for whole life an Annapurna circuit trek, and latest in 2014 October in throng la pass-heavy snow and winds kill hundreds of without guide trekkers, those who have a guide they are safe, because of the guide make a good decision and make a plan every day. Guide cam make the trail and walk ahead if snowing and block the route, so without a guide is very difficult to complete the Annapurna circuit trek

Yangri kharka and Makalu base camp valley it is the most beautiful scenery of Makalu Range Mountain, you shall see nicer and close from you.

Sherpini – Col pass harder parts start from here.

Sherpini col pass C

Makalu Base camp and Sherpini Col pass trek trail in brife

From Makalu base camp Trek, we trek towards to Swiss camp, walking distance looks not so long total walking distance is only 4 to 5 hours, but walking into the glacier & stone takes more hours, along the trek,  today you will be enjoying with a magnificent view of Makalu Mountains( alt 8481m)make your feel very  happy, and you won’t feel that much harder walk into the rocky parts, from Swiss camp to High camp (alt. 5650m.) it is harder to accent up into the rocky hill, Non as called Sherpani-col high camp located in the front for huge Iceland,  In high camp you will have  one more rest day for preparing for  Sherpani -Col pass alt 6119, you need to acclimatize here, your climbing guide will teach you basic  climbing training and get used to altitude, after breakfast, climbing team will go for prepare the rout  fixing the  rope to the top of Sherpani – Col pass,  today  hard work help  for  makes it easier for crossing the high pass,

Following days, early morning starts from high camp to Sherpani  Col top is  very  challenging  parts of this high pass basically  take 7 to 8 hour to reach the top,  5 to 6 hour you can manage to reach the button of Sherpani-Col, walk-in between high camp to Sherpini-Col pass is quite interesting because of every step looks very near, but due to crevasses   and hard snow  frozen makes it harder to keep continue to walk and it takes more hours,  somehow  after struggling some hours lack of oxygen  for  accent to the button of Sherpani- Col, then you have to go through the  rope to top for 200meters, until the top to reach it’s ok it is not very steep but still for porters to climb up it is not easy with carrying the load.

Now finally . you are on the top of Sherpani –Col alt 6190 meters you can see west -Col and huge ice field of Baruntse camp II  in the west and stunning view of Mount Makalu it is always with you,  in between  Sherpini – Col top to another side in crevasses  Iceland is very challenging parts, everyone should stay safe in rope and descend 250m. steep rocky mountains, here you need a knowledgeable climbing guide, minimum in big the group we  need a three basic  knowledgeable Sherpa  team, always in mountain climbing period  Sherpa make the first plan or, the decision how to descend in the safe zone all  group members and  kitchen crew team  with safety and security, after fixing the rope here all groups members should descend one by one first then Nepali kitchen crews and finally Sherpa will descend the kitchen goods slowly with safety and security  normally, if encase some goods or people  took the wrong direction then it  can fall down to deep crevasses,

Pull back to the right direction is very hard, require a  big  manpower and deep knowledge Sherpa team, as per plan from Sherpa team  they control in this dangerous descend parts  like this way, one person stay in the turning point of ice fall and one person in the button to collect safely and one person stay in top manage the load to send slowly down, after  safely  rescue in this hard decent parts, all groups, kitchen crews and equipment,  still you need to walk 4 to 5 hours in  gradual  ice parts,  and its huge big area  like 10 times bigger than a big football stadium ,  if encase a massive fuggy  in this part, some people lost the right direction then its dangers and can missed our life here, as a big record about people die in past, End of this flat area we make camp tonight, a similar strategy like Sherpani-Col high camp, here also climbing guide and other crews go to prepare for west-Col small accent and long descent for next day to make  sure rope condition and other preparation. This the part is most probably one of the most beautiful places in this whole adventure the trip, the lap of Barunte to sleep with seeing massif mount Makalu is definitely there is no other place to something similar like here, tonight is very hard to spend with this high altitude and sleep.

Next morning descending from west-Col, it is the hardest pass in this a trip among other passes in Everest and Makalu region, you have to descend at list promptly 300-meter street to Baruntse camp I from the west –Col,  during descending time lose rock may fall and can hit anybody so you need to be careful anytime, the mountains roles will be same like a yesterday in Sherpini –Col pass, with safety and security  Sherpa team, send group members first one by one and then after kitchen crew, porters and equipment,  Still, you can’t feel safe even completely reach in the button of west-Col still, you need to be careful rock can fall anytime and with crevasse, land and trail shape are always changing due to heavy avalanches during heavy snowfall time. After safely descending another side all groups, we trek to Baruntse camp I where we spend overnight.

Next-Day we trek to  Amphu laptsa high camp (alt 5430m) camper to Sherpini –Col & west Col pass Amphu laptsa high camp is not higher so you can have a good sleep after good ascending and descending, its only 4 to 5 hours walking distance in between Baruntse camp I,  from high camp to amphu laptsa it takes around 2 to 3-hour maximum to reach on top, today for final ascend to get top of Amphulaptsa pass (alt 5860m) you have to use rope,  but this one is easier and much safe and last passes, from top of AMPHULAPTSA PASSES Alt. 5860m you can see  Everest regions mountain, which is completely different than we show earlier from Sherpin Col and west Col pass from Makalu region, then we will onwards to descending other side base camp through the rope, aproxly  200 to 250 meter steep descending the south-north route, it’s your last the final hard part of this trek and its very challenging adventure pass and if we don’t have enough time to reach in Chukung then we stay at camp in Imse lake near Island peak base camp, if we have time and still enough energy to get in Chhukung then we trek to Chukung today directly from Amphulaptas base camp, definitely it’s another hard and big day, and then following fewer days are very easy trekking down to Chhukung,  Dingboche,  Namche, and Lukla before we fly back to  Kathmandu, in between Chhukung to Lukla we meet many trekkers,  who are heading up to Everest base camp trek, then we finally fly back from Lukla to Kathmandu and this is your adventures trip is over here with big memories and experience, definitely, you will always remember this incredible beautiful adventures trip in your lifetime.

Everest base camp trek in Spring 2025/2026

Overview

Discover the Everest base camp trek in Spring in the Khumbu region of Nepal, also known as the Sagarmatha National Park through our Discover open group expedition between mid-March to early May and late September to early November. EXPED does not operate EBC during Nepal’s monsoon period or in the winter.

Nepal hosts 8 of the World’s highest peaks, including the highest, Mount Everest. Trekking deep into the Himalayan Kingdom, the Khumbu region reveals stunning mountain views and the discovery of Nepal’s famous Sherpa’s. These wonderful friendly mountain people originally migrated in the late 1400’s / early 1500’s from eastern Tibet, by crossing over the Himalayan Mountains and settled in Nepal. They established their culture and lifestyle, which is known worldwide today for its simplicity, hospitality and heartwarming communities.

Namche bazaar
Beautiful Namche Bazaar (3,480m/11,417ft), gateway to Everest region.

‘NEPAL’ stands for ‘Never Ending Peace and Love’

You will be met on arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) Kathmandu-Nepal, and transferred to Hotel in Kathmandu for a 2 night stay. An evening welcome meal will be awaiting you. On the third day, early morning, you will be transferred and flown out to Lukla, a guaranteed interesting experience, where the EBC Trek begins. If possible, try and sit on the left side of the airplane as you will see your first view of the Everest region better.

Once landed at Lukla, your porters will be waiting for you. A quick final double check to ensure you has everything and you are on your way. The trek now starts in earnest. On the first day of the trek, most of the trail tends to be downhill but remember, ‘Nepali Flat’ means a lot of little ups and downs that generally gain no overall height in altitude.

The following day is very different and an awesome experience. Most of the day is taken up with repeatedly crossing the valley by magnificent wire bridges, which span the DudhKoshi River. You are now climbing steeply up towards Namche Bazaar, which is the capital of the Khumbu region. Namche will surprise you as it is reasonably large town. You’ll find good internet and Wifi connection here, as well as a great iily coffee and pastry. Take advantage of your acclimatization break here and enjoy your short stay of rest. From here on, the trek gets tougher and the facilities become thinner on the ground.

On leaving Namche, you will drop down before climbing up to reach Tengboche. Here you will find an incredible monastery and more jaw dropping views of AmaDablam, Lohtse and Everest. Trekking onwards, the next pause is Pheriche and then GorakShep. This is your last stop before Everest Base Camp. GorakShep is an isolated village set in a barren looking landscape. However, the bare rock strewn glacial zone has its own awesome natural beauty that only post glacial landscapes can achieve. Behind GorakShep, Kala Patter towers at an altitude of 5,545m, which is your next trek. The views of Everest are stunning and will leave you in awe. It is from GorakShep that you approach Everest Base Camp direct. The terrain you trek is reasonably flat but very rough and rocky on the approach. Once you arrive at EBC, you will rest for a while. Find the 2019 inscribed rock and take those photographs to show off your magnificent achievement.
