The Makalu base camp trek is one of the most adventurous and popular trekking in Nepal. Mt. Makalu, the 5th highest mountain in the world, (Alt 8421m.) is situated between the Everest and Kanchenjunga range. it is located in the far east of Nepal and borders the trans-Himalaya range. generally, you will take a flight to Tumlingtar or you can also go by bus drive from Kathmandu. You will start to walk from Tumblingtar. on the way up to Makalu base camp trek you will cross many local villages such as Seduwa, Thasi gaun, and Kauma Dada, and finally, you will cross Keke-la pass over the 4200m high then you will reach another side of the mountain landscape After you will continue up to basecamp another few days more and celebrate to reach basecamp and explore around then you will re- turn back to Tumlingtar from different route, but you will meet same trail at Dobato as you went up.
During the Makalu basecamp trek, you trek through the Hindu & Buddhist cultures. inhabitants by Chettri, Magar, and Rai in the lower part of the trek, and the uphill is surrounded by Sherpa inhabitants. Early in this trek route, there is a temple called Manakamana which thousands of pilgrims come to visit every year.
Cardamom farming is prosperous also in this area. On the way to base camp from Koma-La pass, you will view the whole Everest range and Makalu mountain range including many other beautiful types of scenery. The trek will be adventurous ascending and descending steeply. From Yangri Kharka, we will see a different mountain. Makalu base camp 5,140m alt.
Our journey commences from the low altitude valley, Arun valley (400m) and mounts over to 5000m elevation. In between Makalu base camp, we will encounter through several passes and note their significance. The region is regarded as a remote area and our hike will become tough, challenging and enjoyable as we go through.

Day 03 Fly to Tumlingtar from Ktm,50 min(450m),drive to Num (15,60m)4-6 hrs
On this Third day you will catch the early morning flight to Tumlingtar which will take like 50 minutes while enjoying the view the flight has to offers .After landing on Tumlingtar we will then proceed to drive to Num which takes us around 4-6 hrs and rest in the Num for following day trip.

Day 04 Trek to Seduwa,(alt.1650m) 6-7 hrs
After having breakfast,we will descend from Num,we’ll trek through forests and terraced farmlands until we reach to the settlement of lumbang.Continuing our journey,we’ll then navigate a steep descent to the Barun river,passing through the densely forested slopes within the narrow valley.Following the slippery path,we’ll then reach to the bank of the Barun river.
Crossing the river over suspension bridge,our route will then takes us to the uphill to Seeduwa.Seeduwa is also where we enter the beautiful Makalu Barun National Park,and we’ll need to show trekking permits to the park authorities as part of the entry process and stay there for overnight

Day 05 Trek to Tashi Gaun,(alt,2200m),4 hrs
On this fifth our trek begins by trekking along the Khola and Kusum Khola rivers,crossing a wooden bridge over Isuwa Khola.Continuing our trek we will go through small villages and lush forests,and then ascending several hills which are adorned with paddy fields until you reach to the Tashi Gaun,a sherpa village where you can explore the narrow winding streets,local monasteries and interact with the friendly Sherpa people.

Day 06 Trek to Kongma Danda,(alt.3500m),5-6 hrs
After having the breakfast we will start our day as for today we’ll trek along an ascending trail,passing through the vibrant rhododendron and oaks forests.Continuing our trek we’ll then cross several small streams and eventually reach a lush green meadows,which serves as the grazing land for local cattle.
This area is dotted with Shepherd huts known as Chipla.Moving forward we’ll follow a steep trail through Khakra and ascend stone steps to reach Khongma,sits high on ridge,offering stunning views of the Landscape all around.

For today we’ll start our day by having breakfast in the early morning then follow the banks of the Barun Khola to continue our journey through the Barun valley.Our trek start by a gentle ascent to reach Ripok Kharka,surrounded by vibrant rhododendron forests.
After traversing a rocky section,we will then climb up to the moraine of theBarun Glacier,where we’ll be rewarded with the stunning views of Mt.Makalu(8,485m), Peak 4(6720m) .Pyramid Peak(7168 m)and other surrounding peaks.Continuing our trek we’ll reach to Sherson.
