Day 01 Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m)

Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, the lively capital of Nepal. Day 02 Drive from Kathmandu (1,400m) to Pokhara (822m)

Today you will enjoy a wonderful journey through the hills and charming old villages to Pokhara—the most idyllic of Nepals lake cities, worth up to 6-7 hours of driving while it winds around rivers and hills. And well, from then you’ll feel the big difference: quieter yet it has to be the placid Phewa’s mirror reflecting that of the snow-capped Annapurna Range. Have a walk by the lakeside rather, and enjoy the calm atmosphere around.

Day 03 Drive Pokhara (822m)-Birethanti (1,263m) and trek to Ulleri Town (1,960m).

After breakfast, drive on for about 1.5 hours; this is where the trek really begins, at Birethanti. The trail grades up quite easily, following along the Modi Khola (river), and here you will pass little villages and terraced fields. Continuing along the trail; it becomes steeper until you reach Ulleri, which is a typical Gurung village sitting on a hill. You’ll breathe in fresh mountain air and approach your first good taste of the Himalayas.

Day 04 Trek from Ulleri (1960m) to Ghorepani (2880m)

Today’s trek leads you much deeper into the rhododendron forest. The path, though generally on gentle slopes, will go up and down with a few rocky steps as well as nice teahouses. Ghorepani is a lovely village just below Poon Hill, and it gives impressive views prior to the sun rise spectacle tomorrow of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges.

Day 05 Trek from Ghorepani (2,880m) to Poon Hill (3,210m) then Tadapani (2,630m)

You will wake up earlier than dawn, in fact, before the sun rises, to hike up towards Poon Hill to check out what might be the most famous sunrises in the Himalayas. Day 06 Trek from Tadapani (2,630m) to Landruk (1,565m) via Ghandruk (1,940m)

Today is the most culturally rich day as you come down to Ghandruk, one of the most famous Gurung villages with stone lodges and people who are quite friendly toward tourists. It will take a little bit of exploring in Ghandruk, and then you come down, cross a suspension bridge, and climb a little to reach Landruk. Enjoying all throughout the day are the views of Annapurna South and Hiunchuli.

Day 07 Trek from Landruk (1,565m) to Low Camp (3,050m)

And now you’ve left the villages behind, and you put your foot on the quieter Mardi Himal trail. To start with, the trail is pretty reasonable, but in no time, it steadily rises through forests composed of rhododendrons, moss-covered boulders, and shrubby undergrowth with huge tree trunks.

Day 10 Trek from Badal Danda (3,250m) down to Siding (1,700m), then transfer to Pokhara (822m)

An exhilarating descent shall lead through forests and terraced fields until reaching the village of Siding. This is like going back to the lower hills and rural life. Once Siding is reached, a jeep will drive you back to Pokhara. You will return to find both the mountains and the inviting comforts of this lakeside town awaiting you.
