Helambu Valley Trek situated north of Kathmandu, provides a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Close to the Tibetan border, the region is home to distinct cultures, with tamang communities dominating the lower areas and sherpas residing in the uppermost regions. The roots of these communities trace back to Tibet, with the migration occurring five to six hundred years ago, and the influence of Tibetan culture is still evident today. Day 01 Arrive in kathmandu,alt.1300m

Our representative team will pick you up from the airport and take you to the hotel.Upon arrival,you can take a short rest.Later,you’ll meet your guide and have a briefing about the itinerary and a discussion about the trek.

02

Day 02 Drive to Sundarijal then trek to Chisapani,(alt.2300m)

After having the breakfast we will drive an hour to Sundarijal .It is the starting point of the trek where we trek along hydroelectric plant and then starts to kick off to the Chisapani which would take roughly 4-5 hrs.

Our trail continues through the scenic Shivapuri National park .Upon hiking up a hill to an altitude of approximately 1895m,which is over 600m above sundarijal,we’ll arrive at Mulkhara,a village inhabited by tamang people in Mulkhara we will take some rest,savoring tea and snacks.

After a brief break,we will resume our hike,going through dense woods filled with rhododendron and oak trees until we reach Chisapani.

Day 03 Trek to Kutumsang,alt.2470m

After enjoying our morning breakfast,we will embark on our journey towards kutumsang,our destination for the day.The hike begins with gradual ascents through meadows and fields ,offering views of many tang settlements and the breathtaking Langtang Mountains.

Continuing our walk ,we will reach Pathi Bhanjyang and Gul Bhanjyang,where the trail ascends the hills.From Gul Bhanjyang ,we ascend to another pass before making a descent ,eventually reaching Kutumsang for the night.

Day 04 Trek to Thadepati,(alt.3490m)

Today ,we will head north to enjoy the breathtaking views of snowy peaks ahead.We will ascend a steep trail through fir and rhododendron forests,where no settlements are present.

The trek continues to Yurin Danda-where you will enjoy magnificent views of the himalayas.After that ,we will stop at Magen Goth,where few lodges are found .Following this, we will ascend to a mountaintop that offers a pristine views of enticing peaks and massifs.finally after some hike we will reach today’s destination i.e. Tharepati

Day 05 Trek to Tarke Ghyang,(alt.2621m)

After having our breakfast ,we descend from the ridge through the dense forest,terraced fields and small sherpa settlements you can also visit old and artistic Gompas nearby.While exploring the local settlements ,interacting with the people and getting the insights of Sherpa and tamang culture you will eventually reach to Tarke Ghyang

Day 06 Trek back to Thimbu and drive to Kathmandu,(alt.1300m)

Today is the last day of your trek ,for today we will trek back to Thimphu and take a scenic drive to Kathmandu.On the way,you can visit the historical Changu Narayan temple.If you wish to extend your stay,you have the option to de so,otherwise our team member will drop you off at the airport for your journey back to your native country.

Best season to Trekking in Helembu

Helambu trek is accessible throughout the whole year,,but the decision to trek often depends on the weather conditions.Speaking of weather ,the optimal seasons for the Helambu Valley trek are spring and autumn.

Spring season starts from March to May and this season is considered to be the best season for Helambu Valley trek . For day time temperatures it rises from 10-20 degree whereas at night it’s from -5 degree to 5 degree. During spring season,the region comes alive with vibrant blooms,particularly the blossoming of various flowers,including the iconic rhododendron ,along the trails.The trek offers a refreshing experience as the air is mixed in the fragrance of these blossoms,creating a lighter and more tranquil atmosphere that smoothes the heart.

Autumn season starts from sept-nov known for its clear skies and stable weather,so another best season considered to be the best season for Helambu trek.The temperature rises up to 22 degree during the day and in night it goes below 10 degree.As monsoon season has just finished the environment feels clean and fresh and the views of the surrounding landscapes,including the himalayan peaks are spectacular during this season.

Monsoon season starts from June-August .The paths are usually slippery ,muddy and wet due to rain .The temperature rises from 10-20 degrees during a day making the day time warm to hike however at night it ranges from 5-10 degree so you might feel cold.Because of rain ,walking in the routes might be a problem but this season provides the unique experience and if you plan to visit Helambu during monsoon don’t forget to pack raincoat and warm clothes.

Winter season in Nepal Begins from December to February.The temperature can drop to – 6 degree.The wind is chilly and paths might be covered with snow making hard to walk in the trails.It is cold but the view this season offers is worth.If you plan to trek Helambu in winter season then make sure you have experience guide who has well-known knowledge about the terrain and trekking equipment and gear.

A special experience I never dreamt I would achieve… on crutches! On our visit to Pokhara my friend arranged a trip by jeep via the Tatopani hot springs, The World Heritage Town of Marpha, Jomsom 2700 meters to Mukinath Temple 3500 meters. This was all arranged with advice from Dinersh. Dinersh has looked after three of my dear friend’s four children. All who have been with him to Everest Base camp & various treks. These were all hugely successful & lead by Dinersh himself. We were not on a trek but his input & advice was invaluable. He found us an experienced driver, Kumar to take us on our mountain adventure. He was wonderful so kind & caring. Slightly unusual circumstances to consider was my injury. I was recovering from a complex fracture of the lower leg & ankle & on crutches! However, it was an amazing experience for me. I achieved far more than I ever expected & now have such precious memories. Through the advice from Dinersh & the careful consideration of our driver I cannot rate this company & all their contacts more highly. Throughout our travels in Nepal I have met such very special people. Dinersh & his team are very much a part of this special band. They were just “1st class”

Trip to Muktinath and earlier Family Treks Dinesh has been a guide to my family over many years. Two daughters trekked to Everest Base camp. One returned for second trek. Son has done three separate treks, including the Annapurna Trail. He then took on ‘Dad’ and arranged a 4 day trip to Muktinath, with an excellent driver, Kumar. Everything thought through, including extra care re altitude sickness What an amazing Quality of Service my family and I have received from Dinesh and his company, Nature Explore over these many years, Inc. Once in a lifetime trip with a stellar crew This trip was hands-down one of the best trips I've ever been on. It was definitely challenging (~13,000 ft is no joke) but the food, the views, the hikes, the views, the company, did I mention the views, all of it was fantastic. Dinesh and his crew were amazing: they clearly have deep experience and training to be as safe and competent as they are, but they go the extra mile to make sure people are getting what they need, when they need it. Amazing trip to ABC I joined the trip solo, but made a bunch of amazing friends on this trip, and a lot of that is owed to Dinesh and his team of guides and porters helping us all along the way. They were warm and generous with every part of the trip. Dinesh was super thoughtful as he captured moments to be remembered, such as sunrise at Poonhill and ABC, and even our group yoga classes. Best trek experience, best guides Thanks so much to Dinesh and his team for their warm, engaged, thoughtful and consistent assistance on our ABC trek this past October. There are a couple other reviews here of that trip and their wonderful support. I’ll add that Dinesh was available as well in addressing questions I had prior to the start of the trip to help put my mind at ease. From those moments going forward and through the entirety of the trip, I felt I was in good hands. Everything was well planned and communicated. Where there were surprises, they easily and calmly helped with a solution, such as when I’d somehow lost my rain layer mid-trip and they helped me set up a DIY trash bag rain layer which worked fantastic. Since many or most of us (~20 total) were new to high altitude hut-to-hut trekking there were of course a lot of expressed nerves about how things would go. The team’s support kept us at ease. Plus these guys were kind and funny. A pleasure to be around. A big thank you to them!
