Are you tired of the same old purposeless life and ready to transform it once and for all? Then come with us on our Kailash Mansarovar Tour Package (16 Days) and embrace the limitless, shed the heavy burden of your past karma, and find the new meaning of your life.
We promise you our Kailash Mansarovar tour’s 16-day journey will immerse you in immense spiritual significance, by which you will tap into the great wisdom and energy that can bring in meaningful change in your life.
You will walk side by side with the diverse assembly of holy beings and complete the circular journey around the Grand Kailash. Here, we would also like to highlight that our Mt. Kailash tour package offer goes beyond the 53 km long stretch of the outer Parikrama of Kailash.
We will also take on the demanding Charan Sparsh, (North Face Inner Kora), an essential and fulfilling part of the Inner Parikrama that encircles this revered mountain. Although the trek can be strenuous, it reveals the marvelous, extraordinary north face of the Kailash along with the incredible and rare opportunity to touch the very feet of Kailash.
Often hailed as the navel and focal point of the universe, Mount Kailash, with 6638 m altitude, majestically sits in the Ngari county of the western corner of Tibet.
The Peak is also the originating source for the four main Asian rivers of Indus, Sutlej, Brahmaputra, and Karnali that flow through Tibet, India, and Nepal, channeling divine energy from Kailash to far-reaching corners of the world.
For the devoted Tibetans, the peak is the Kang Rinpoche, the precious treasure of snow and home of the divine Buddha. For Hindus, the summit is the auspicious dwelling of Shiva, the destructor of the evil force and karma.
It is often believed that Kailash has four faces perfectly aligning with the four major compass directions of the world, which are actually the four faces of Lord Shiva.
On the other hand, for Jains, the holy Kailash is the very site where their spiritual leader received the blessing of complete Nirvana. Thus, the pilgrimage around Kailash enhances every devotee’s deep connection with their respective gods, freeing them from ignorance and false illusions.
Therefore, spiritual seekers from all over the world unite annually to participate in a sacred walk around the majestic mountain, known as Kora, Kailash Parikrama, or Yatra.
Our Kailash Mansarovar tour endeavors to take you on a similar journey with an extra day of Charan Sparsh in Kailash. Buddhists and Hindus will undertake the walk in a clockwise manner, while Bon practitioners will take the opposite route.
Our Kailash Mansarovar tour package will proceed with you from Kathmandu. You will then navigate through Kerung and advance towards Saga and then Lake Mansarovar.
With an impressive elevation of 4600 m, Lake Mansarovar is worshiped as the maternal lake and is regarded as one of the tallest situated alpine lakes in the world.
The lake is thought to have been formed by Lord Brahma as a reflection of his divine essence. It is often believed to be a portal for souls that links our physical world with the spiritual one.
Thus, pilgrims who visit this revered lake also perform various puja ceremonies, Hawans, and yagya to pay tribute to their ancestors and seek freedom from the cycle of reincarnation.
We will also honor this tradition at the lake, and then we will journey to Darchen, the gateway to the Kailash parikrama. Our first day of Kora, or parikrama, will take us to Dirapuk Monastery, and the next day, we will hike to Charan Sparsh to touch the feet of the northern face of Kailash.
Here, we will immerse ourselves in its spiritual energy through puja and meditation. On the following day, we will tackle the Dolmala Pass of 5600 elevation and spend the night at Zutulpuk Monastery.
Now the final segment of the Parikrama will be followed by a brief return to Darchen, indicating the start of the final leg of our Kailash Mansarovar tour. Once again, the journey will lead us back to Nepal’s capital through Kerung.
Along with the profound transformation and renewal energy, our Kailash Mansarovar tour will also offer our travelers extraordinary mountain vistas, including Gaurishankar, Shishapangma, and many more Tibetan Highlands.
Travelers will also spot the Bharal, Himalayan Tahr, Wild Yak, and Kiang—the wild donkeys, snow leopards, red foxes, and sand foxes along the trail. The thrill seekers will also feel the adrenaline pumping when crossing Dolmala Pass.
Yes, the Kailash Mansarovar tour is undeniably challenging and demands both mental determination and physical strength. If you want to experience the auspiciousness along with the mystical charm of Tibetan nature, then you should undertake the Kailash Mansarovar tour package between March and October.
So are you intrigued to open your gate to countless future adventures? Then don’t wait and join our Kailash Mansarovar tour package right now, and together we will set forth on this transformative journey.

Day 10 (1st day parikrama) Drive to Tarbuche 5km, 4724 m and trek to Dirapuk, 4920 m, 12km , 5/6 hrs
Finally, the long wait is over and we will begin our Kailash Parikrama. Today is the first day and not that demanding that can be accomplished with a gentle pace.
After a short drive from Darchen, we will arrive at the flagpole of Tarboche beautifully embellished by the multi-colored lungtas/prayer flags). Every year at the annual festival of Saga Dawa, the new flagpole is erected which is a sight to be seen.
On the other hand, for Hindus, this entry gate is Yamadwar (the gate guarded by the god of Death Yama, the eldest son of Sun God). Legend has it that he will allow only the pure and honest souls to pass through its threshold.
We will encircle the gate and be met by our yaks, porters, or ponies (if arranged) who will carry us toward Kailash. Those who have not hired any will advance on foot.
Along our path, we will pass the Tibetan sky cremation site, which is distinguished by a multitude of prayer flags and white garments. We will continue on to get deep inside the Lhachu Valley as we ascend toward Dirapuk.
If the weather is too perfect, we may also get the flying glance of western wall of Kailash. Walking side by side with the wild donkeys of Tibet, we will eventually reach the monastery of Dirapuk.
It has very modest hostel-styled rooms with 4 to 5 single beds inside. At the very high Kailash parikrama season, they may fill up quickly, if so happens, we will set up a tent on their grounds for our overnight sleep. With the darshana of norther face of Kailash, we will rest our evening.

Day 11 (2nd-day parikrama) Hike to Mount Kailash north face - Charan Sparsh, alt. 5400 m, 4-5 hrs, 5-6 km
Today will be a bit demanding and arduous but rewarding at the same time. We will be walking a portion of the Inner Parikrama or Kora of the Mount Kailash that will lead us to Charan Sparsh which means touching the feet.
The journey will guide us to the sacred point where we will be able to physically touch and connect with the base of Kailash, engage in puja, and meditate, thereby deepening our connection with Lord Shiva.
The journey is short but with greater demands of traversing the glacial and rocky terrain so it is vital that we prepare ourselves mentally and physically.
Please remember that the trek from Dirapuk to Charan Sparsh will be done entirely on foot. In the end, we promise you will feel the greater self-awareness and the divine cleansing of your soul and spirit.
We anticipate completing this part of our journey by the afternoon, allowing time for lunch. From Charan Sparsh, we will have the holy darshan (vision) of the north face of the venerated Kailash.
If you have some effort, determination, and will left, you may also attempt to continue to Atmalingam, the Saptarishi cave, and the Ice Lingam which can be difficult for some so this is optional.
After our time at Charan Sparsh, we will make our way back to our accommodation in Dirapuk.

Day 12 (3rd-day parikrama) Trek to Zutulpuk (alt. 4790 m) via the Dolmala pass (alt 5600 m) 23 km, 11-12 hrs
Another very challenging, long and demanding day of our Kailash Mansarovar tour package but a very transformative section that promises to deepen our spiritual growth and uplift our souls.
We will have to overcome the obstacle of the massive Dolmala Pass which is the highest elevation on our Kailash Mansarovar tour. This means we will need to hike 8 kilometers uphill, descend 5 kilometers, and then walk 22 kilometers on level ground to reach Zutulpuk.
Please understand that at this stage, you will only be able to ride horses while climbing the pass. You will have to be prepared for some steep sections where you may need to dismount, as it can be challenging for both you and the horse to continue.
From Dirapuk, we will continue with a very deliberate gradual pace traversing the Jarok Donkhang and heading towards the Shiva Tsal cemetery (5330 m).
In keeping with the custom, we will leave behind our old personal items such as worn garments, jewelry, hair lock, or even blood drop indicating we are ready to let all our past go paving a way for a fresh new start.
Our upward journey will direct us up the sharp rocky and glacial path to the top of the Pass where we will be again welcomed by the vast expanse of the Lungtas.
This pass is also known to be the holy abode of Goddess Tara worshiped for her maternal and nurturing compassion so sometimes it is also known as Green Tara pass.
From the Pass, we will journey down and arrive at pristine waters of Gauri Kunda (5608 m), the lake where goddess Gauri (Parvati) bathed. For Tibetan, it is Tso Tuksche or Thukpe Dzingbu.
Many Hindu pilgrims stop here to gather water for purification rituals in their offices, business place, and homes. As we resume our downward journey, we will walk past the Axe of Karma which symbolizes our act of severing ties with our past misdeeds.
The path ahead will remain clear until we arrive at the tranquil guesthouse of Zutulpuk. Here also, we will have to stay in dormitory styled setting like in Dirapuk.

Trip Information
Kailash Mansarovar Tour – Best Time of Year 2025/2026/2027.
The highlands of Tibet are infamous for their extreme, changing, and arid weather pattern. Particularly in Kailash, it is often said that you can feel the impact of all the four seasons in a matter of just one day.
Mornings can be refreshingly cool, but the afternoons can turn uncomfortably warm with the scorching sun shining brightly over your heads.
As the day proceeds, the dark, heavy and black clouds can suddenly appear in the sky accompanied by strong and harsh winds and by night, you can see the snow and hail falling on the grounds.
Thus, you have to be ready for these rapid weather changes during our Mt. Kailash Mansarovar tour. For any walking tour, a stable weather is one of the essential factor, thus we suggest you to take on this journey on the months between March to the early days of October.
These are the times when Kailash and its trail get busy with the footsteps of thousands of pilgrims as these months are known to offer the best stable and constant weather in Kailash.
The daytime heat often lingers between 25 to 30 degrees Celsius, while nights can plunge below freezing. From April to June, you can even see the raising of the new Flagpole at Tarboche and take part in the colorful festival of Saga Dawa.
This time also indicates the arrival of spring in Tibet transforming its barren land into something very exotically green and bright. September and October on the other hand offer the clearest transparent sky with exceptional views of the high Himalayan peaks of Tibet.
During these periods, Kailash enjoys the most consistent weather, with comfortable heat of around 8 to 9 degrees Celsius. As for July, and August, they mark the monsoon time in Tibet accompanied by heavy snow storm at Dolmala Pass.
Likewise, the full moon days of these months also see a large crowd of Hindu pilgrims as the believe the Kailash parikrama on these special days will atone their past karma.
From late October to the latter days of February, the heat in Kailash can go down to -36 degrees Celsius accompanied by the winds that can sometimes reach 32 km per hour. Often, the locals leave their homes and move down to a more comfortable lower areas to avoid the harsh weather.
Thus, if you desire a peaceful and less crowded journey through lush landscapes and mountains, you should choose March, May, September, and October. If you are interested in the Saga Dawa celebration, visit in April or June.
For Hindu devotees seeking auspicious opportunities, the full moon days in July and August are particularly significant. It is ideal to avoid the winter months altogether and the Kailash Mansarovar tour package will also not be available.
Kailash- Mansarovar Tour (Yatra) Difficulty level.
The Kailash Mansarovar Tour is not just a journey rather it is a profound test of your stamina, physical strength and your mental resilience and our determination.
As you go on with this adventure, you will face dramatic changes n altitude beginning from 1300 m altitude of Kathmandu and then quickly transitioning to heights between 4500 m to 4700 m.
The maximum elevation of this tour will be when you are at the top of the Dolmala Pass which stands at 5600 m elevation which is not to be taken lightly. The journey to the Pass can be done on the horse’s back but not for long.
In addition, there are at least three high Tibetan Passes in between the route, each nearing 5100 m that will require swift ascension and descent. We can not also forget about the challenging Tibetan climate which is known for its less oxygen content and dryness.
In addition, we also have added the trekking portion to Charan Sparsh which introduces further challenge into the journey because of its strenuous demand of crossing the glacial landscape.
However, the growth of mass tourism in the region has brought the intense development in the area. There have been significant improvements in the infrastructure which has eased up some of the difficulties of the Kailash Mansarovar tour package.
You can have the comfortable nights in the decent accommodation in Saga and Darchen while the guesthouses in Dirapuk and Zutulpuk are clean, well-maintained with basic services enough for a night or two.
Previously there used to be only monastery guesthouse but now the government has also operated some other guesthouses so as much as possible, there will be no need for camping.
Still, lack of clean toilets and hot fresh water for the shower can be felt. The menu till Saga is also diverse but afterward, they are limited to local cuisine which are decent enough to go on for a day minimizing reliance on dry food.
As for the road conditions in Tibet towards Kailash, they are well-kept so most of the time, the journey will be smooth enough. Plus, all the ground journeys will take place in spacious large private transport such as jeep, van or bus based on the number of Yatris in a group.
Likewise, the long passes are also manageable and you will have enough chances for exploration and photography during the road travel. Similarly, for those who find walking difficult can get on with the parikrama on horses, and they can also hand over their luggage to porters or yaks.
The major problem comes from the high elevation along with the unforeseen and uncertain weather conditions that can result in acute mountain sickness. Therefore, you should take the acclimatization day and walk very seriously.
The toughest section of the entire Kailash Mansarovar tour package will be on the 11th day when taking over the Charan Sparsh followed by the lengthy upward hike to the Pass.
The journey may also sometimes need supplemental oxygen. However, with the right travel program, rest days, planning, and correct precautions along with the strong will help you overcome all these challenges of the journey.
Foods during Kailash Mansarovar Tour
Our Kailash Mansarovar tour package will take care of every logistical detail of your journey. We will ensure that all your meals throughout the trip are fully managed for you.
As we will be visiting the most revered site of Lord Shiva, we will only be serving vegetarian meals until the Kailash journey is complete. In Kathmandu, you will have morning breakfast in your overnight hotel while lunches and dinners are left to your choice.
Since there are so many culinary options available in Kathmandu, we have chosen this arrangement so you explore the menu on your own. You can indulge in a variety of dishes such as Samosa, vegetarian biryani, veg momos, sel roti, vegetable noodles, and many more vegetarian delights from both local and international cuisines.
Once we set off for Kailash from Kathmandu, we will serve three main meals- lunches, breakfasts, and dinners along with fresh seasonal fruits each evening and mineral water for the journey.
During your stay in Timure or Syabrubesi, you can try out Dal Bhat Tarkari (lentils, white rice, and vegetables) with a sample of chutneys. You will also have additional options like noodles, veg momos, thukpas, and more.
Likewise, when traveling through Tibet up to Saga, you will be able to enjoy the world of culinary delights, where you can delight your taste buds with a mix of national and international dishes, including flavors from Nepal, India, and even some European ones.
You can also try out delicious yogurts and at supermarkets of Saga, you can also find varieties of fresh fruits and international treats. From Darchen, however, you gave to get ready for a menu that focuses solely on Tibetan and Chinese flavors.
Similarly, in the accommodations of Dirapuk and Zutulpuk, you will find basic yet tasty local Tibetan food only. Here, your breakfast may feature Tibetan tea, lentils, naan, or chapati (Tibetan Bread) and for lunches and dinners, you may get fried rice, noodles, tofu with comforting vegetable soups.
Along the way, you will find the locals setting up the tents to serve Yatris hot water, snacks, instant noodles, and hot water. If camping becomes very necessary, then our kitchen crew will cook for you fresh vegetarian meals.
Kailash Mansarovar Tour Permits And Visa Process
It’s been many years that we have been organizing journeys to Tibet, thus we have wealth of expertise in this area so we encourage you to reach out to us for any assistance you may need.
Please remember, for now, any travel inside Tibet must be done as part of an organized group for which you must work with a certified reputable Nepali travel agency like ours when you choose to depart to Tibet from Nepal.
Whatever the Google tells you, you must know any independent travel and tour inside Tibet is not possible, and neither a travel agent nor an unofficial intermediary can facilitate this process.
Additionally, when you travel within Tibet, you must have with you a licensed local Tibetan guide and a private vehicle driven by a qualified driver.
Also, a formal official paper known as permit is obligatory to enter from anywhere in Tibet and few other permits to go to Kailash. So, you will have to present us your formal documents such as photos and passports which we will then deliver to our registered travel agency in Tibet.
They will handle the permit arrangements on our behalf and our Tibetan guide will take care of your original permits. Therefore, we kindly request that you confirm your seats for our Kailash Mansarovar tour package 4-6 weeks before your planned arrival.
When sending us your documents, please ensure you follow these steps:
- Make sure your photo dimensions are 51 mm by 51 mm with a clean white backdrop, and it should be captured without makeup or glasses.
- Your passport must remain valid for a minimum of six months beyond your arrival date and include a minimum of 2 to 3 blank pages.
- Please provide a color copy of your passport, ensuring that it is complete with no sections cut out.
In terms of permits, any journey within Tibet from Nepal needs the Tibet Travel Permit and the Chinese Group Visa. Additionally, we will also be needing the Military Permit, the Alien Travel Permit, and the Foreign Affairs Permit for Kailash Mansarovar tour because Kailash is located in a military-sensitive area in western Tibet.
As your friend in Nepal, we will be managing the logistics for the Tibet Travel Permit and the Chinese Group Visa while our Tibetan travel company will look after the three other permits.
Tibet Travel Permit/TTP
TTP is a formal document of the Tourism department of Tibet which means you will have the permission to travel around Tibet once you have this paper with you.
This small official paper will have all your personal information along with all your planned details such as where you will be staying, how you will get around, and your arrival and leaving dates.
Therefore, once all the details have been set and your TTP has been approved, you won’t be permitted to make any other changes to your travel plan.
To sort out the TTP for our Kailash Mansarovar tour, once we have your aforementioned papers, they will be forwarded to our travel partner in Tibet along with the details for our Kailash Mansarovar tour package.
They will present everything to the tourism office to confirm our trip. An official invitation letter will be issued, which is essential for the Group Visa application at the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu.
The Tibet Travel permit typically takes about 10 to 15 business days to process, and our Tibetan guide will collect it and keep it safe for us during our travels.
Chinese Group Visa
Please remember that all participating Yatris of our Kailash Mansarovar tour package must personally and all together visit the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu to procure their Group Visa. This visit involves registering fingerprints, submitting photographs, and presenting original passports.
There are two options available for procuring this Visa: one is through the standard procedure costing USD 175 for U.S. nationals and between USD 70 and USD 170 for other nationalities and the process will require 4 office days.
The second option is the express procedure costing between USD 90 to USD 180 per yatri (based on their country of origin) and the procedure will need 4 office days.
The embassy will be closed on Saturdays and Sundays so please reach Kathmandu on other days. While waiting for the Group Visa, we will not remain still but discover the religious monuments of the capital.
Our team will be collecting our visa and original passports on the day of arrival. Please clearly understand that this is a collective single paper issued as one for the whole group thus requiring each one of us to enter and leave Tibet on the same date, day, and time.
Kailash Mansarovar Tour Transportation
Throughout our Kailash Mansarovar tour, we have taken great care to arrange all your travel needs for the travel. We will be using spacious and comfortable standard tourist vehicles such as buses, van, jeeps, or car customized to fit the size of our group.

You will have the flexibility to explore at your leisure, make personalized stops, and take breaks whenever you desire. Then, you will begin your travel journey along the entire route from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi or Timure in a private transfer.
On the Tibetan side also, the same level of quality transportation service will be offered to you for your entire road trip to Kailash. The service encompasses your journey to Kerung, Saga, Lake Mansarovar, and Darchen followed by your return journey from Darchen as well.
There is also the option of hiring ponies to carry you for the Kora and yaks and porters for carrying your bags. Please note that the costs of these services are however not part of our Kailash Mansarovar tour package.
Our local guide will however be on hand to assist you with any arrangements and negotiations you may require.
Four Days Kailash Parikrama 2025/2026/2027.
Kailash Parikrama for the Hindu believers and the Kailash Kora for the Buddhist faithfuls is actually a type of pilgrimage that is performed through walking and meditation around a sacred Mount Kailash which is the most holy mountain in the world.
The word Parikrama or Kora itself means to circumambulate or to revolutionize. It is believed that steps performed on the parikrama will put one on the path to enlightenment for all sentient beings.
By walking around with a passion for seeking wisdom and compassion, one can purify one’s negative karma and create the seeds of enlightenment.
As for Kailash, it is considered to be one of the most spiritual powerhouses, and just being near it is a blessing. Even scientists who don’t believe in any religion or faith have accepted that the peak radiates some unusual magnetic field and energy that can transform any being.
In fact, Kailash is not only a peak but rather like a giant mandala crafted by nature itself that has the power to change any beings from an ordinary to extraordinary.
Therefore, when you complete your journey around this pious site, you will create yourself a fresh slate of Karma with an opportunity to rewrite it again.
The initial day of the parikrama commences with a journey from Darchen to Tarboche Gate, followed by a trek or horseback ride towards Dirapuk. This first day of the parikrama marks our readiness and the beginning of our inner purification and the initiation of our spiritual journey.
On the second day, we will ascend to Charan Sparsh, a segment of the Inner Kora of Kailash, where we will have the opportunity to touch its feet and physically experience the embrace of Lord Shiva, feeling his presence in every particle around us.
We will sense him absolving our sins and bestowing his blessings upon us as we progress toward enlightenment and self-realization.
On the third day, we will journey through the Shiva Tsal cemetery, leaving our old belongings behind as a powerful gesture of moving forward.
After that, we will traverse the Dolmala Pass and pass by the Axe of Karma, which will sever our negative thoughts, actions, and karma. This moment will create a blank page for us to fill it with positive deeds and intentions.
After we make it to the Zutulpuk grounds, it symbolizes our victory over negative karma, thereby paving us the way for spiritual rejuvenation. Finally, on the fourth day, we will conclude our journey feeling completely revitalized and ready for a new beginning, a new life, and a renewed aspiration.
Buddhists and Hindus circumambulate Mount Kailash in a clockwise manner, while Bon practitioners do so counterclockwise. Regardless of their beliefs, all participants share a common goal: to enhance their spiritual growth, develop and foster a deeper sense of awareness and personal accountability in their lives.
This sacred parikrama around Kailash is also believed to help devotees achieve rebirth in a higher realm, distancing them from lower, malevolent beings and guiding them toward the divine kingdom.
Here, we also like to point out that this four-day parikrama is not only a spiritual pilgrimage; it is also a celebration of the stunning Tibetan landscape.
As you travel westward, the scenery begins to resemble a masterful painting, with colors that are both unique and beautifully mixed. Watching this enormous beauty, we will find ourselves wondering and feeling momentarily speechless.
The remarkable natural elements, the lake, the peak, the rich blue sky, the fluffy clouds, the constantly shifting and reshaping atmosphere is nothing but an exciting adventure.
Thus each year, thousands of pilgrims, and western travelers try to reach Kailash, undeterred by the numerous restrictions imposed by the Chinese government.

Kailash Mansarovar Tour Age Restriction 2025/2026/2027.
Effecting from 2024, the Tourism Bureau of Tibet have established the age limit for all the participants of the Kailash Mansarovar tour package. Those who are above 75 and less than 10 years will no longer be eligible for applying for the Tibet Travel Permit because of the health concerns.
Similarly, all the Indian citizens must be 18 to 70 years old in order to be qualified for the Kailash Mansarovar tour package.
This regulation is in place because the Kailash Mansarovar tour is recognized as one of the demanding and arduous trek in the remote corner of Tibet which can be challenging even for those who have excellent physical shape.
Over four days, trekkers will traverse the rugged and harsh Tibetan terrain with an average elevation of 4600 m. During the taking place of Parikrama, the overnight elevation will be 4920 m at Dirapuk and 4790 m at Zutulpuk.
There is also the challenge of the trekking to Charan Sparsh and the crossing of the 5600 m Dolmala Pass. The hike involves significant elevation changes of around 1000 m which can be very stressful for the elderly and younger people.
The thin and lower oxygen air, the inconsistent alpine climate, the demanding conditions, the remoteness, the lack of proper medical facilities, the modest lodgings and minimal dining options can pose health risk specially of altitude sickness for those who are above 75.
On the other hand, children under ten years can also struggle with the elevation, and may also lack the endurance that is needed to overcome the demands of the Kora journey.
They may become restless and they may get tired quickly making your journey more stressful. Thus, we advise you not to consider bringing your young children for this tour.
Electricity Facility, And Mobile Charging.
During our Kailash Mansarovar tour, you will have convenient access to electricity and charging facilities. When staying at a three-star hotel in Kathmandu, you will be able to charge your electronic devices directly in your room.
At the guesthouses in Syabrubesi or Timure, charging may not be available in your room, but you can charge your devices in the dining hall for an additional fee.
Please note that in Nepal, the common types of charging plugs are C, D, and M, that feature two or three round pins. The electrical voltage will be of 240 V.
In Tibet, up to Darchen, you will have a continuous supply of electricity, and charging facilities will be available in your hotel room. However, at the monastery and government-run guesthouse of Dirapuk and Zutulpuk, electricity may be supplied through government-run power, solar panels, or generators.
So you have to be prepared for occasional power outages at night or during the day. The most frequently used charging sockets in Tibet are types A, C, and I, which generally consist of flat and round parallel pins.
Therefore, we recommend you to bring a universal charging adapter to accommodate all types of plugs available in hotels and guesthouses in both Nepal and Tibet. Additionally, we also suggest you to bring several batteries or a power bank to ensure your devices can be charged as needed.
Hot showers and Toilet Facility on Kailash Mansarovar tour package
You will have access to 24/7 hot water and a shower in your private en suite bathroom when spending time in Kathmandu. However, at the mountain guesthouses in Syabrubesi or Timure, hot tap water and showers may not be readily available.
You can request for hot water at the guesthouse and they will provide you with a bucket of hot water for your shower and you may also fill your bottle with boiled water for drinking purposes.
Please note that you will have to make an extra payment for the service which is not included in the total price of our Kailash Mansarovar tour package.
Regarding toilet facilities, the private bathroom may not always be available in the mountain village of Nepal so you will have to share a toilet with other guests at the lodge. The toilet may be located either inside the guesthouse or outside within its premises.
In Kathmandu, you can expect western-style toilet facilities, while in the mountain village, squatting toilets are more common. On the Tibetan side, cozy hotels up to Darchen will provide hot water and showers in private attached bathrooms.
However, during the Kailash Parikrama, toilets may be situated outside the guesthouse, and hot water may not be consistently available.
Hotel/ Guesthouse Facility, 2025/2026/2027.
When you are in the Nepal’s capital, we offer you three-star lodging in the tourist center of Kathmandu on a shared basis. You will have a spacious room at your disposal with two single beds, an en suite bathroom with hot shower facilities, and 24/7 WiFi connectivity.
If you like to upgrade your stay in Kathmandu such as to a four or five-star hotel with a private room, please inform us at the time of making your reservation, and we will look after it with the charge of a nominal feel.
In Syabrubesi or Timure, we will secure quality guesthouse accommodation for your overnight stay, where you will have a room with two or occasionally three single beds, along with basic furnishings, including a mattress, pillow, and blanket.
The dining room and restroom will be common and will have to be shared with other guests. When you are in Kerung, you will enjoy similar amenities as in Kathmandu in its finest lodge or guesthouse.
As the Kailash Mansarovar tour commences in the Tibetan Highlands, you will be lodged in high-standard tourist hotels, complete with private bathrooms, hot showers, and proper air conditioning. We will also assure you that the hotel will be equipped with a proper oxygen supply should you feel the altitude of Tibet.
Please note that you will be paired with a fellow traveler of the same gender in a double occupancy room. Darchen will be the final town where you can enjoy the comfortable lodging and amenities.
After Darchen, lodging will generally consist of basic guesthouses operated by local monasteries or the government that feature hostel-style rooms with four or five beds.
Cleanliness will be well look after, and you will have a bed with a mattress and blanket. However, we advice you to bring your sleeping bag for added warmth during the colder nights.
In the very busy time of Kailash Mansarovar tour package, camping in tents at Dirapuk and Zutulpuk may be necessary. In such instances, our team will provide durable tents and will set them up for your overnight stay.
Mount Kailash North Face Hike Including Charan Sparsh
Not everyone who go for the Kailash Mansarovar tour have the fortune to reach the base of Kailash and touch his feet. But we have made it possible for you as we realize that it is every pilgrims dream and wish to at least once touch the revered feet of Lord Shiva at Kailash.
Thus, after reaching Dirapuk, we will take you on a very special yet very demanding 5 to 6-km journey over a glacial and icy rising path to the spot called Charan Sparsh.
Originated from Sanskrit, this term signifies the act of touching the feet, a gesture that is widely practiced among Hindus. It represents a way for younger individuals to show respect to their elders, mentors, and gurus, while also seeking their blessings through this respectful action.
The Charan Sparsh on Kailash is positioned at the foot of the northern wall of the mountain which is actually the snow-capped glacier that continuously extends from Mount Kailash, symbolizing the feet of Shiva.
For devotees who traverse this path of faith, the opportunity to witness Lord Shiva from this vantage point is unexplainable. The journey to Charan Sparsh is both extraordinary and transcendent where the pristine aura and sacred atmosphere instill a sense of spiritual tranquility in pilgrims.
The hike to Charan Sparsh will end you at the altitude of 5400 m where you will be able to have darshana of the grand northern face of Lord Shiva- the Kailash.
This is not only sacred but also equally striking specially at sunset and sunrise when the sun radiates its golden hue turning the northern Kailash Wall resembling Gold.
The scene truly captivates you and with the sharp edgy features, the north face of Kailash literally evoke the sense of awe, and reverence.
Once you arrive at Charan Sparsh, pray and do the puja at the feet, you will not only have the blessing of Lord Shiva but also soak in the spiritual energy of the sacred mountain symbolizing the purification of past negativity while taking in a renewed spiritual journey.

Attractrions of the Mount Kailash Mansarovar tour package
Mount Kailash
With an astounding elevation of 6638 m, Mount Kailash lies beautifully on the northern junction point of the borders of Nepal, China and India. The peak is considered the Center or the Axis of the Universe in the hearts of religions such as Buddhism, Bon, Hinduism and Jainism.
The Peak is also the source of four main rivers of Asia namely Karnali (an essential tributary of Ganga), Brahmaputra or Yarlung Tsangpo, Indus, and Sutlej.
According to the Hindu Faith, the Kailash summit is the sacred and the most preferred home of Lord Shiva. He is the god who is known to destroy negativity and illusions.
It is said that here he resides with his wife Goddess Parvati, and his two sons Lord Kartikey and Lord Ganesh along with his companions known as Ganas.
Many accounts have emerged time to time suggesting the sound of Damaru (a two headed drum and the favorite musical instrument of Lord Shiva) resonate vibrations of OM around Kailash.
Likewise, various ancient Hindu texts like Mahabharata, Ramayana, Vishnupurana, Machchepurana, Shivapurana, and Shankharpurana have referred to Kailash.
The Vishnu Purana describes the Peak as having four sides, each representing one of Lord Shiva’s faces. The north face is crafted from gold, the south from lapis lazuli, the west from ruby, and the east from crystal.
Similarly, every now and then, the amazing spectacle comes to life in Kailash, particularly during sunset. The sunset light and the casting shadow of the peak create the powerful and auspicious sign of Swastika while the snowfall sometimes makes the OM sign.
Thus, the entire Kailash region is believed to radiate the presence and blessings of the Lord Shiva. Therefore, numerous Shaivites and Yogis dedicate their earnest years to meditate in this sacred place.
Similarly, for Jains, the peak is the first location where their founder and Master Rishavadeva got his enlightenment. For Buddhists, this peak is the sacred dwelling of Demchoka aka Chakrasamvara.
They refer to Kailash as the Kang Ranpoche Jewel and the entrance to the seventh invisible realm of the great sages. According to Buddhist tradition, this is where the city of the Gods is believed to exist, a place of ancient mystical knowledge, often equated with Mount Sumeru.
And, for scientists, the Kailash peak is a pyramid with its faces oriented towards the four universal directions: East, West, South, and North. Research has also indicated that the Sphinx in Egypt is aligned with Mount Kailash.
Till date, no one has been able to reach the summit of Kailash. Many climbers who attempted to conquer this enigmatic peak said to have encountered abrupt weather changes, significant challenges, and inexplicable occurrences, compelling them to retreat.
No matter what the science suggests, the deep-rooted faith in the hearts of pilgrims will stay and Kailash will always be the timeless home of their gods.
Lake Mansarovar
Lake Mansarovar is the symbol of light, life, and motherhood if Kailash is regarded as the paternal power, then Lake Mansarovar- the maternal.
It nestles around 2000 km afar from Lhasa in the western corner of Tibet to the southern part of Kailash. With 4600 m altitude, it ranks as one of the highest and tallest freshwater in the world.
It is known as Mapham Yum Tso by the Tibetan populace. It has a round shape and has a circumference of 88 km with a maximum depth of 90 meters spread over an area of 320 km².
Its water is striking blue at the edges which transition int emerald green at its center which adds to its grand allure and beauty. Numerous beautiful stupas and temples surround the lake but the most captivating and largest one is the Chiu Monastery.
As for its religious importance, according to Hindu beliefs, the lake originated from the mind of Lord Brahma, the creator of the Universe. He created this lake for his 12 sons who came to the site for meditation.
It is also believed that in this very location, Goddess Parvati brought Lord Ganesha into existence and both she and Lord Shiva immersed themselves in its divine waters.
Likewise, the Lake also has significance in Jainism, as it is believed that Rishabhdev (Adinath), the first Tirthankara, meditated here. In Buddhism, Mansaorvar is the very lake where Maya Devi conceived the great Sage Buddha. And, during the lifetime of Buddha, he meditated by its shore many times.
Thus, the lake is equally significant for pilgrims just like Kailash itself. The journey of Kailash Kora or Parikrama is regarded incomplete without the act of walking around the lake.
Numerous devotees also take the sacred bath with its water and perform various rituals to attract good fortune and cleanse themselves of sins collected from their current and previous lives.
Additionally, many believe that by praying and conducting puja on the shores of the lake in honor of their ancestors, it can help liberate those souls from the endless cycle of rebirth.
On the other hand, the lake is also a great place of beauty for those who like to see the nature at its best. Its surreal beauty, and its clear blue waters brings a gentle, peaceful color to the landscape. You can walk along the lake and admire the pure beauty that nature has to offer as well as enjoy meditation in this peaceful space.
Gaurikunda Lake
Gaurikunda Lake has the immense significance for many devotees and pilgrims. The Lake is situated in the snow-laden Lhachu Valley beneath the Dolmala Pass at an elevation of 5,608 meters. It has a circumference of approximately one kilometer.
The lake spans seven and a half kilometers in circumference and reaches a depth of 80 feet and is characterized by its emerald green hue. Known as Tso Tuksche or Thukpe Dzingbu in Tibetan, the area is adorned with several monasteries.
For Hindus, this lake holds significant spiritual importance as it is believed to be the site where Goddess Gauri, also known as Parvati, undertook severe penance to win Lord Shiva as her consort.
Thus, the waters of the lake symbolize her profound devotion, love, and compassion. It is also said that Goddess Parvati created Lord Ganesh in this very location and bathed in the lake.
The belief persists that Goddess Parvati still continues to visit this site for purification. The lake is also referred to as Parvati Sarobar and its waters are thought to have the maternal love and blessings of Parvati.
Thus, this sacred site represents life, compassion, love, and devotion leading devotees to believe that even a single drop of its water can cleanse the soul, body, and mind.
Some pilgrims choose to bathe in the lake, but we do advise against it due to the risks of hypothermia and the sanctity of the water. However, you can collect the water in a bottle for purification purposes.
Tirthapuri Visit
Tirthapuri is situated approximately 130 kilometers from Darchen, along the banks of the Sindhu, or Sutlej River. This site holds significant importance in both Hindu and Buddhist traditions.
It is believed that after completing the circumambulation of Mount Kailash, bathing in the hot water sulphur rich spring at Tirthapuri provides the full spiritual benefits of the pilgrimage and eradicates all the sins accumulated over many lifetimes.
According to Hindu tradition, it is here that the demon Bhashmasur was turned to ashes by Mohini, a female incarnation of Lord Vishnu, who intervened to protect Lord Shiva.
For Buddhists, Tirthapuri is the location where Padmasambhava meditated, and a small cave remains there still radiating his presence. He is acclaimed to have introduced Buddhism in Tibet.
Nearby, we can see a small monastery which is devoted to the goddess Dorje Phagmo. Approximately, half a kilometer away lies a natural hot spring, believed to have originated from Shiva’s trident.
The circumambulation of Tirthapuri takes about an hour, during which pilgrims can bathe in the local hot springs. This sulfur spring marks the beginning of the Tirthapuri parikrama.
If you also take the parikrama, then along the route, you will encounter old garments and unusual rock formations. Further along, you can also see a site that resembles much like the Dolmala Pass but on a smaller scale. Here, you can observe money stones, yak horns, and skulls.
Kailash South Face Inner kora
Most of the Kailash Mansarovar tour packages will take you to Charan Sparsh only which is just a small portion of the total inner kora circuit of Kailash.
The total inner Parikrama circuit spans around 34 km and takes you along the west and south faces of Kailash as well through astounding locations such as Asthapath, Nandi Parvat, Atmalingam, Saptarishi Cave, and Rakshas Lingam.
This total circuit is more challenging and strenuous comprising rocky terrain along with crevasses, snow and ice. In addition, the entire area is inhabited except for two small monasteries on the route.
So if ou decide to take on the whole inner circuit, you will have to prepared not only for the arduous journey but also for the tent accommodation at night.
It is often believed that once after completing the total inner circuit around Kailash, one will enhance self awareness, enlightenment and experience liberation from material attachments.
After completing the Charan Sparsh and the Dolma La Pass crossing, you will walk back down to Zutulpuk and then to Darchen. From here, you will proceed approximately 4.5 kilometers to Selung Gompa, where you will cross a bridge over the impressive Lhachu River.
Then taking the left turn, you will head towards the beautiful monastery of Selung. From here, you can move on towards Atmalingam, Saptarishi Cave, and Ice Lingam. The route will then direct you along the western slope of Yinjietu Peak taking you to the feet of the south face of Kailash.
Pay attention to the Swastika shape created by the intricate ice formations and be few privileged ones to see the grand south face of Kailash alongside the magnificent Thirteen Pagodas.
Next, you will journey east and ascend the 5300 m high Nandi La or Khandosalgam La Pass. Once you cross the Pass, you will be hailed by the stunning Gyangdrak Gompa before returning to your lodgings in Darchen via Nandi Parvat.
Often pilgrims undertake this route once they finish the outer circuit 13 times. It is believed that the West Face of Mount Kailash is formed from Ruby and it radiates the aura of compassion and goodwill.
On the other hand, the south face is believed to be formed from lapis lazuli, and worshiping this face is thought to provide safeguarding from untimely demise.
