The Mardi Himal Trek is highly favored among trekkers. Located in the lap of Mount Annapurna, the Mardi Himal trek is the perfect blend of stunning landscapes, from lush rhododendron forests to high alpine meadows. this trek showcases the diversity of Nepal’s Beauty. The Mardi Himal trek is the long, rising ridge on the southwesterly slope of Machapuchare Mountain. Machhapuchare (6993m, 22943ft), with its twin peaks that mirror the image of a fishtail, is a gorgeous and sacred mountain of Nepal. The ridge here leads to a High camp, located at 3,620m (13,550 ft), where a second consecutive afternoon is spent acclimatizing with the views of Annapurna South (7,219 m, 23,684 ft) and Machhapuchare Himal , himchuli (6430m) and many other peaks. All around you, right from Dhaulagiri to the Ganesh Himal, stretches a dozen or more spectacular mountains, with Annapurna (I) being the highest of them all.

This trek starts with a day exploring famous places in the Kathmandu valley like Kathmandu durbar, Pashupatinath, and Swayambhunath. On the next day, you will drive to Pokhara and then head to kande,where your official trek begins. Trekking through the Deurali, you will see the amazing view of Machapuchare, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, and Lamjung Himal, including Mt.Annapurna. It is the place where you will be staying overnight Continuing the trek from pothana to forest camp begins which will take like 5 hours with the path getting steeper. Next day we will trek to badal dada passing through Low camp .Badal dada is a stunning place surrounded by clouds, offering breathtaking views of the Machhapuchhre and Annapurna ranges.

As you go up the ridge gets narrow you’ll see the deep valley from the both way as Once you arrive at High Camp, you can enjoy a satisfying sunrise view of Annapurna and Mount Fishtail thanks to an early morning hike. To get the best view of both ranges, we’ll climb along the narrow Marimal Base Camp. We will then make our way down to low camp. On the way back, we’ll hike to Siding Village, where you can explore the area and discover the local customs, culture, and way of life. There’s also a chance to see Nepal’s national bird, the Danphe.You will then return to Pokhara by car.This region is inhabited by Gurung, Magar, and Chhetry people. You will observe their blend of religion and culture as you travel.

Day 02 Day 2: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (alt. 740m.) ,6 to 7 hours.

We’ll have morning breakfast at the hotel before taking the bus to pokhara . After 6-7 hour’s journey, we will reach to pokhara-a beautiful valley surrounded by beautiful hills, river mountain peaks. We will stay overnight at Hotel near the lake side pokhara, which is the toursit hub. before dinner after we reach in Pokhara you can visit  Fewa lake, lakeside pokhara.

Options:  you may choose to take 30 minutes scenic flight to pokhara instead of the bus. Which cost is USD 105 per person for one way flight.

Day 03 Drive from Pokhara to Kande , and trek to Deurali (alt.2100m.) , 5 hours.

After enjoying the breakfast at the hotel in Pokhara we will drive to Kande. Officially your trek starts from here. After gradually ascending for like 1.5 hours we will reach to Australian Camp (alt.2,065m). Descending For about half an hours we’ll reach to Pothana where we’ll have lunch break ,enjoying the lunch break in lodge and resting for a while we’ll resume our trek.Continuing for another hours of hike we’ll reach our today’s  destination which is Deurali- a beautiful village covered with hills and if the weather is clear then we might see view of different mountains like Annapurna, Machapuchare, and Dhaulagiri. Manaslu and Lamjung himal.

Day 04 Trek from Deurali to Forest camp ,(alt.2500m.) 5 hours Or Rest camp

Another day with short  hike for today we will only hike for 4-5 hours We’ll trek through forest of  bamboo,rhododendron,oak,birch and many more .The trail becomes steeper as we move towards forest camp from deurali.We’ll encounter different flora and fauna .for today we don’t have view of mountain as we are walking through the forest .After hiking 3 hours if you want to rest for a while then you can and if you don’t want then after hiking for 4-5 hours you’ll reach  the destination, i.e., Forest Camp.

you can also walk one hour more to rest camp which is more scenic and it also offers beautiful views over the Mt. Fishtail.

Day 05 Trek to Badal dada through low camp , (alt.3310m.) 4/5 hours

Today we are ascending to badal dhada after a good breakfast on Forest Camp through low camp (alt.3310m). After walking for like 3 hours we are going to stop for the lunch break at low camp,enjoying stunning view of mt.Machhapuchhre,Rhododendron forest ,different spices of bird and also meet the wildlife on the way to badal dhada The trek to badal dhada is challenging due to its steep but it rewards us with the most breathtaking view of Macchhapuchre and Annapurna ranges. The panorama view of pokhara city from badal dhada is awe-inspiring in day and even more magnificent in night as the light from pokhara city at night makes it even more beautiful. For overnight we are going to stay at badaldhada

Day 06 Trek to Highcamp camp (alt.3620m.) , 3 hours

Another short day trek, lasting around like 3 hours as ascend gradually to hight camp as we are shifting from alt of 3310m to 3620m our throat  gets dry so upon arrival to high camp we’ll drink the hot water, lemon, ginger tea to keep up with the dryness we feel from hiking .After lunch if you want to witness the mardi himal sunset view then you’ll have to hike 3 hr to reach the viewpoint and then 1.5 hour to return back to the high camp.But the thing is decision to visit the viewpoint will depend on weather condition and traveler preferences if not today then we will go for tomorrow.The trail to high camp offers great views of pokhara on a clear day.

Day 07 Early morning hike to Mardi himal viewpoint (4500m.), 6 to 7 hours. and trek back to low camp

Today marks as the highlight day of the trek .Before sun ascends,we will embark on hike from mardi himal high camp to mardi himal view point .The journey promises the most spectacular sunrise view over Annapurna and Mt.Fishtail  Himalayas.The local community has constructed the stairs to the viewpoint making it easier to hike and for some people they stop there trek from this point as the view is similar to that from the Mardi Himal Base Camp but if you want to see the Annapurna-I then you have to go to Base Cmap as we cannot see the Annapurna -I from the viewpoint.After witnessing the beauty of different Annapurna Ranges and Mt.Fishtail we head back to the low camp.

Day 08 Trek back to Siding , (alt. 1280m.) 3 hours.and drive back to Pokhara

On the way back to siding ,you may encounter the Nepal’s national bird,Dhape .While you’re in siding ,you can stroll around and learn new culture ,tradition and lifestyle.After reaching to sifting we’ll have our lunch and then drive back to pokhara for 3 hours and from this your trek ends here.

During Mardi Himal trek , accommodation will be in in local teahouse-which are typical hotel with homely atmosphere.These teahouses are managed by the the local where all basic facilities is provided with room which is clean and comfortable to stay in .

Rooms typically come with twin beds with mattress ,blanket and pillows .if you desire hot water,there may be an additional low cost .While ome teahouses l have ensuite bathroom ,most of them have shared bathroom with squat toiletHowever,the hospitality of teahouse owners is exceptional ,ensuring a positive and memorable experience.
